At the event held in San Francisco offices, the Google Maps team has announced that soon all the android devices will get offline access to GMaps.
Other than this they have also added a fly-by 3D view feature of the Google Earth & possibly Maps. The most interesting thing about this view is that you can also access GMaps on the devices such as tablets & smartphones.
For your kind information the new 3D view mode uses image data captured with the help of dedicated airplanes that capture images of metropolitan areas while flying over them. The offline maps work brilliantly all you have to select the area in which you are interested and can see where you are on the map. You can also rotate the map in the right direction if your device supports built-in compass.
All these stuffs are subjected to come in the Google IO conference coming this month. So patiently wait for this wonderful app to land on your smartphone.
